OWEN HYDE
Matrem-born scarecrow assigned to assist Jekell Amapola.

Owen lives in Black Wing, the layer of residence for Matrem's reapers. He's easily irritable and prefers the quiet to balance out the physical weight and exhaustion reaping brings him. He's always keeping an eye out for Reese, specially before he leaves the house with Jekell early in the mornings.
He may not show it, but he cares deeply for the kid. Inside that annoyed and tired hay shell is a devoted husband who finds the most peace getting to come home to his Liria Petunia. If it's not too late, he'll make the effort to stop by the merchant area and pick up new seeds for her garden.
JEKELL AMAPOLA
Part of Matrem's legion of reapers. Was assigned Owen Hyde for him to aid her duties.

Like Owen, Jekell lives in Black Wing as well. She's a faithfully devoted reaper to the Blood Eye, the force of power that dictates those who choose to become reapers of Matrem.
A mistake from her past that haunts her ultimately lead her down the path of reaperhood, and now, she's sworn devotion to the Goddess of Death, and her Grim Reaper, Levoseer.
She was given the responsibility of raising Reese Rámos during her time as a reaper in Black Wing. She may be strict towards him, but her love for the kid is unfathomable. When she isn't on the clock, she enjoys her days at home with Reese and the scarecrows. They can be overwhelming at times, but she loves how full it makes tthe house feel.
LIRIA PETUNIA
Matrem-born scarecrow assigned to aid Reese Rámos.

The second scarecrow in the reaper household. Liria is carefree and cheerful. She was assigned to Reese as a protector by the Goddess of Death herself, and quickly became the center of Owen's world once she first entered the abode.
Liria, like Owen, is an unveiled scarecrow. Unlike veiled scarecrows both Owen and Liria share the gift of manipulation of a magical element. Owen's soul magic is fire, while Liria's soul magic is restoration . Her love for botany makes her healing abilities represent themselves through a floral motif.
Liria stays inside the abode most of the time either tending to the garden outside, or giving Reese company. She's the bubbly heart of their home, and she's stolen a heart with her intigration to the family.
REESE RÁMON RÁMOS
A stillgloom soul reincarnated into Matrem.

Stillglooms are the souls of people who perished before their destined time of death. These kind of souls are rare formations, so much so that there are only two of their kind as far as documentation goes. Reese was sent down to Matrem by request of his own to be reunited with Jekell once more. He remembered Jekell pre-mortem and chose to follow her no matter where her soul laid. This brought him to Matrem.
As part of compensation for this unjust demise, the Goddess of Balance assigned Reese to be taken care of by Jekell, under the condition that he may never become a reaper like her. But as we all know, the more you're denied of something, the more you'll seek it. Reese wants to become a strong reaper one day, in order to protect the family and to one day help Jekell and travel to the mortal realm once more.
He's a little bit of a troublemaker, sure, but his heart is in the right place. He pokes fun at Owen as a side hobby and picked up the guitar to combat the boredom of being homebound.

DEZMOND VERLICE LEDGER
Matrem-bound imp.

Dezmond, similiarly to characters from Hell's Flower, originates from Matrem. but unlike our previous family, he's a reincarnated imp, meaning that Dezmond lived a life post-mortem and was trialed in Purgatory for his crimes during his lifespan.
Dezmond's criminal record extends to gruesome lengths. He murdered 71 people in his hometown for the span of some years. He was caught in the end, and sentenced to death in the early eighties.
Desperate to flee his eternal punishment, he learned black magic through stealing pages from magic users in Famtholok, the layer of Greed in Matrem, and carved his way out via the use of an illegal portal spell.
To his surprise, the spell worked. Now it's a race of time for how long he can keep himself free.
